WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos review:1 stars (Childish graphics and dialogue + boring gameplay = bad game) - I wanted to love this game. I'm a big fan of Blizzard: Warcraft I & II, the Diablo series, but things seem to have taken a nose dive with this game. I was completely awed by the cinematic demos of the game that I downloaded off the internet, complete with awesome music and stunning visuals. You could tell a lot of great artistry went into making those short, computer animated films. With the actual WC 3 game, however, things are completely different. The graphics are big and cartoony, the voice acting TERRIBLE, and there are tons of cornball one-liners that the troops use when ordering them around. The dialogue in the cutscenes is horrible too. Give me a break, Blizzard. If you wanted to make this game look so serious and wicked with the demo movies why did you have to turn around and make the game so lame? The promise of a dark, mature fantasy game was what I found appealing, and I was misled by the movies into believing that's what WC III would be. The game itself is best suited to 12-year-olds, however. I DON'T WANT CORNBALL VOICES AND SILLY ONE-LINERS AND DIALOGUE IN MY FANTASY. Why did Prince Athas look so cool in the WC 3 preview movie and yet he looks and sounds like a Disney character in the game?! And if that wasn't bad enough, the game play is incredibly boring after a short while. If you want a great RTS get Age of Mythology. Warcraft 3 really stinks.4 stars (Reminded me of Lord Of The Rings) - When I say that, I mean A LOT. It's almost like this computer game was based on that trilogy.

Here's why:{I'd like to start with #2 first if that ok with you}
2. There are orcs.
1. There are some wizards like Gandelf.
3. There is a crapload of battle.
4. There are neat fantasy elements like LOTR.
5. It is so close to LOTR, that if there were hobbits, that's exactly what it would definetely be.


The main reason I love this game is because it is fun and it is my first computer game to be played on my computer, which has to mean it is special. Doesn't it? This game also comes with "Frozen Throne". I think it is the "to be continued" part of this game. The graphics are good and have a LOTR feeling to them.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you like fantasy/adventure/action stuff. 5 stars (Warcraft 3; Upsides and downsides) - I really liked Warcraft 3 alot and I would definately recommend it to anyone willing to give up about an hour of their time every day and have fun. You might not accomplish anything in particular but you will be awe-ispired by this game (and if you think this is cool, you should by World of warcraft). Once you buy the game you have to buy the expansion, because it makes it way cooler than it already is. The "World Editor" feature is sweet, because you get to create your own maps and dungeons (look for this feature in the annals of your comptor after installation). This game is altogether sweet and I seiriously recommend it. I also reccomend purchasing any other BLIZZARD titles that strike your fancy. Please excuse the poor typing, Sincerely, Nick
