Myst 10th Anniversary DVD Edition review:5 stars (Bust your brain) - First off I'd like to point out that I have Windows XP Home, a brand new Audigy 4 Sound Card and an AMD XP 3200+, all of the games run flawlessly. Most of the time if you are having problems with games it is simply drivers, these can almost always be updated. If games are crashing on your system you may want to check into what other programs are running in the background such as adware or spyware. These games will run fine on older systems as well as most newer ones.

The Myst series fits into the adventure genre and consists of mostly pointing and clicking to move/search through fantstic and imaginative worlds.
Each of these games features some mind bending puzzles and problems to solve, most of which you'll need to take notes for and pay close attention with both your eyes and ears.
Of the 3 I'd confidently say that Riven is the most difficult and will probably cause you to smash a couple mice against the wall but solving it without any help or hints is a real ego boost for the intellectual athlete.
What Myst does not include is blood and guts and senseless violence, there is very little action and for those seeking a quick mindless thrill this is the wrong game to buy.
This will require all of your attention and each game will most likely take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to finish.

They are all safe for children although some of the concepts may slip past those of a younger age (say under 10 depending on the kid)

For the money it's a great package and will keep you busy for a long time. Well worth the cash.5 stars (Great Package) - I was already familiar with the Myst series when I bought them, but over the years had misplaced my origional CD-ROMS. I wanted to play them again, so I bough this. It was AMAZING! First of all, especially in Myst, the graphics looked so much better! Also, they are on DVD-ROMs so you NEVER HAVE TO SWITCH DISKS! For those of you who played the origional CD-ROM version of Riven, you'll know what I'm talking about! If you haven't played Myst yet, this is the best way.4 stars (Difficult but Fun ) - I give the Myst series 4 stars because overall the puzzles are pretty difficult. The story lines are good, and if you enjoy adventure games with lots of puzzles, then these games are a must to play. I had no problems running the games on XP.
