GBA Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones - Software Publisher's Description:
GBA Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones review:5 stars (I love this game) - This is the first Fire Emblem game that I have played, and I was surpised at how similar it was to Advance Wars (which is another game that I heart deeply). The first 20 minutes I was playing though, I was bored and about to give up on it already, but then when I actually got into gameplay, I fell in love with it. It's turnbased tactical stradegy like Advance Wars and Final Fantasy Tactics. The graphics are pretty good for a GBA game and a feature in this game that makes it more real is that if a character dies in battle, you lose him forever, you can make him come back but only if you retstart a chapter, and sometimes that's not a good thing to do if you've pt 20 minutes of effort into it. Also, you can only use a weapon a certain amount of times which gets annoying. Still, this is defiennetly on my top 10 GBA game lists, I've only put 4 hours into the game and i'm certainly looking forward to putting a hundred more into it.5 stars (better than life) - this is a great game for kids to learn how to kill a dragon and eat poop.3 stars (Not What I Was Hoping It Would Be) - I've become an addict of RPG series such as Phantasy Star, Dragon Warrior, and the eternally consuming, superior Final Fantasy. When I learned of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, I rushed out immediately and purchased it. After 45 minutes of play, I was severely disappointed. Until then, I had not been aware of "tactical" strategy games--not saying there is anything wrong with this particular genre, but it simply did not interest me. I was surprised to find myself irritated at the amount of reading involved, and I soon grew impatient for actual gameplay. It is obvious that this game is superior and engrossing for those who like tactics-based games, but I have learned I'm not one of those people. Unfortunately, I had also purchased Riviera, and discovered it to be the same. The graphics, music, detail, and storyline on both seemed to be wonderful and engaging; however, though I tried and tried I could not get interested in this type of game. If you are a fan of tactical strategy, then I would definitely recommend it. But if you are like me and are interested in more quest-like, "trigger" adventure, than look for something else.
