Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Software Publisher's Description:
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance review:3 stars (Final Fantasy Tactics is EXTREMELY boring!) - I had purchased this game only because I had remembered playing a Final Fantasy game on the Playstation years ago. I had never caught the name of the Playstaion game, so I had immeadiatley assumed that this was the one. I had played this game for six days and completed it. Its really boring, but I guess its something to do when you don't have anything else to play with.5 stars (People are a bit to Negative.) - Many of you people are very negative about this game, I know it's your opinion and you will stick to it.
1. The battles do not take to long, its a matter of how good your clan is (well maybe its because i have an assassin and a kick-ass ninja, and My characters are all well rounded =) ) 2. ENEMIES DO GET CARDS, BUT, enemy bosses with blue ribbons on their portrait cannot get sent to jail, because they want you to defeat the boss, oooohh<_< 3. Fight and Color magic being outlawed at the same time?? Wow, thats hard thats why you have OTHER clan members with techniques and skills and other things than color magic. 4. If your crappy characters are weak, what you do is make them face clans, clans are oriented around the average level that you are, so you can face them, and gain exp. and loot ( that was just a helpful hint=) ) 5. I'm gonna have to agree with this: the battle system does get old, thats when I just do dispatch missions and play Mario, the most stoned game ever.
Furthurmore, I know that I probably won't change your opinion, BUT, might help you with beating battles with cheap-ass laws, or for-some-odd-reason-this-boss-is-gay-and-strong characters. OR, buy the FFTA strategy guide! 3 stars (The Black Sheep of the Final Fantasy Family) - The game starts in the city of Ivalice, a young boy and his friends read a magic book that grants them their wish, which is to have adventure, and have the world like the "Final Fantasy game." After your character awakes in this new land he quickly joins a clan, and starts to do missions for them, and the while attempting to return to Earth, while being impedided by the queen, her evil son, and their judges.
Game play and style are similar to the original Final Fantasy Tactic, with some key (and annoying) differences, first their are no longer male and female, but rather five different races, each of which learns unique jobs. Skills for those jobs must be learned from weapons and items, like in Final Fantasy 9. Battles are played the same as in the orginal, turn-based on a square battle board. But, the biggest difference is the addition of the Judges and laws, in every battle there are laws that must be followed, ex. fire will get you fined and ice will get you a bonus point, some are simple enough to avoid doing, while other laws force you to concentrant on the battle, and as anyone who has played a final fantasy game will tell you it is very difficult to continouly watch the screen. If you break the law too many times you will be sent to prison, where you will have to pay a fine, or serve a set sentence.
The laws add a little more stratagy to the game, and the enemey is also punished for breaking the law (however, the computer rarely forgets what the laws are). In the end it is the law card system and child-like story line that makes this game fail to live up to the original.
If your looking for a good RPG, play Final Fantasy Tactics on playstation. If Game Boy had taken the orignal and not changed a thing and just moved it to Game Boy it would have been about six times better than this game.
That is not to say this isn't a good game, it is a decent RPG, but has no replay value, and is way too slow (If you continuosly push the A button at the begining it still takes over an hour before you play a real battle and can save). This could have been a great game, if it was a true sequel, but since its not, Pass This One Up. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Features: GBA Action Adventure Role Playing Games (Game, RPG, RPGs, CRPG, CRPGs) Video Games Nintendo Game Boy Advance (Gameboy) Impartial judge decrees specific rules during every battle Speed-based system that falls in between real-time and turn-based action Gorgeous character illustrations and 2D sprites harken back to Square's 16-bit glory days Players assume the role of young Marche in a world of strategic combat and conquest 3D-viewpoint battlefield offers clear view of playing characters
