Fight Night Round 2 - Software Publisher's Description:
Fight Night Round 2 review:4 stars (Best Boxing Game Ever....wait is that good????) - There are very few good boxing games in the history of Video games. In fact it's pretty much been Mike Tyson's Punch out and Ready to Rumble in a very, very distant second, with everything else totally sucking. This game changes that. It has a very good career mode...and let's get real, we all play to see ourselves knockout Ali,Frazier etc. Graphics are great...the cutman feature is good, replay value is ok. I played career mode in all the weight classes before I moved on to other games. The career mode...while good did leave some room for improvement so I will get Round 3 if/when it comes out.
I recommend this game to anyone who likes boxing.5 stars (Awesome Boxing Game - Strongly Recommended.) - I have played quite many boxing games and this one, I have to say, is one of the best. Though I haven't played the first Fight Night, I can't make any comparison with regard to this one.
The career mode is great. You could either create a new boxer (your own boxer with facial feature and body build type, etc...) or you could rebuild the career of those famous boxers came with the game. With new boxer, you would start out at 20 years old and fight until your boxer gets old and retire. This game mode is highly replayable.
A lot of people like the way EA makes the total-punch-control (using the Right analog stick to punch). Though I only use it for making the Haymakers. I still stick with the basic punch buttons for jabs, cross, and hooks. The game punching mechanism is extremely smooth. That is a big plus.
There are many things I like about this game. Graphic is awesome. EA makes the boxers look very real (great job). The best part is the fighting. In this game, you MUST BOX to win. This is not the type of game in which you would win depending on how fast you jam the buttons. You must dance around, defend yourself, and box! Patient is the key of winning. If you are not patient rushing in and punching yourself out to dead, you'll be KO fast.
I know some people complained about the computer would over-use the Haymakers in the Hard Level. It is true! In the hard-level, you don't expect to stand toe-to-toe trading with the computer. The computer is too fast for you and it will "haymaker" you to dead. Again, you have to be patient and box! The true champion is the one who could defend as well as (or better than) offend. The fun of boxing is only to hurt your opponent but also to protect yourself well from being hurt.
Overall, I would rate this game is one of the best boxing game out there available. Prior to this game, I vote for "Victorious Boxers". Unfortunately, "Victorious Boxers 2" never came to U.S.
If you are boxing fan, I would strongly recommend getting this game. It is very addictive.
I hope you would enjoy the game as much as I did. Have fun.1 stars (Does Not Live Up To The Hype!) - The gameplay is is weak. The parrying effect and unlimited haymaker system totally destroy the natural ebb and flow of boxing. Read the other review on the parrying effect, its dead on. I'm sticking with the original Fight Night. Fight Night Round 2 Features: Video Games Xbox (x box) Microsoft Action Adventure Sports Outdoors XBox ESRB Rating: T (Teen) Sports/Boxing
